Garlic Butter Steak Bites with Parmesan Cream Sauce

  • Author: Rayne
  • Total Time: 30 minutes

Ingredients

Scale

For the Steak Bites:

  • 1 lb (450g) steak (sirloin, ribeye, or your preferred cut), cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

For the Parmesan Cream Sauce:

  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese (freshly grated for the best flavor)
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • A pinch of crushed red pepper flakes (optional, for a touch of heat)

Ingredient Highlights

  • Steak: Choosing a tender cut of steak such as sirloin or ribeye ensures that the steak bites are juicy and full of flavor. Feel free to experiment with your favorite cuts.
  • Garlic: The garlic not only adds fragrance but also infuses the steak and sauce with a deliciously savory depth.
  • Heavy Cream and Parmesan: These two ingredients create the luxurious, rich texture of the sauce. The Parmesan adds an umami flavor that pairs perfectly with the steak.
  • Butter: The butter serves as the base for both the steak bites and the sauce, contributing to the richness and flavor of the dish

Instructions

Prepare the Steak Bites:

  1. Season the Steak: Pat the steak cubes dry with a paper towel to ensure a nice sear. Season the cubes generously with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat the Pan: Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add 1 tablespoon of olive oil and let it heat up until shimmering.
  3. Sear the Steak Bites: Add the steak cubes to the pan in a single layer, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. Sear for 2-3 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked to your desired level of doneness. Once cooked, remove the steak bites from the pan and set them aside on a plate.
  4. Sauté the Garlic: In the same pan, add 2 tablespoons of butter and let it melt. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute, or until fragrant and golden brown. Be careful not to burn the garlic.

Prepare the Parmesan Cream Sauce:

  1. Make the Cream Sauce: To the pan with the garlic butter, add the heavy cream and bring to a simmer over medium heat. Stir frequently, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan (this adds extra flavor to the sauce).
  2. Add Parmesan and Seasonings: Once the cream has heated through, reduce the heat to low and add the grated Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Stir until the cheese is fully melted and the sauce has thickened to your desired consistency. If you like a little heat, you can add a pinch of crushed red pepper flakes.
  3. Combine the Steak with the Sauce: Return the cooked steak bites to the pan and stir to coat the steak with the creamy Parmesan sauce. Let it simmer for an additional 2-3 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together.

Serve:

  1. Plate and Garnish: Once the steak bites are coated in the creamy sauce, transfer them to serving plates. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley for a burst of color and fresh flavor.
